Calma Boutique Hotel

The hotel is in lovely shape, and the beach across the small street is beautiful, with good service there. Our room was spotless and had a wonderful bay view, breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and polite. It’s probably the nicest hotel and location on the island, and a perfect place to stay. A couple of things could be better: the plastic straws come wrapped in plastic, and then you find them on the ground and beach. Also, towels are changed automatically even when they haven’t been used.

We stayed six days with our son and will definitely come back to Syros. It’s an easy, quiet beach holiday, and a sure choice for couples or families. Our room was big and comfortable, with a large patio, jacuzzi, and sea view. Breakfast came with our package, and we loved the taste, preparation, and variety. This family-run boutique hotel is polished, spotless, and in a great seaside spot. They have their own sunbeds across the street, with excellent service for food, drinks, or anything else you need. There’s plenty of parking behind the hotel.

The location was great, but the rude host ruined our stay. After the cleaning lady had already been in, and with the do not disturb sign on, the manager entered our room and said that as hotel manager she could come and go in the rooms as she pleased. Whenever we raised an issue, like the room phone not working, she was incredibly dismissive and rude. We were also charged for damage we hadn’t caused. Save your money and stay somewhere else!

We had to find another hotel on our first day on the island because they hadn’t properly reserved our room. Later, when unfortunate events meant we had to cancel, the hotel kept our downpayment despite our explanation. For comparison, two other hotels, one in Syros and one elsewhere, refunded our downpayments and showed understanding and humane behavior.
