Panorama Hotel

The hosts are very nice and friendly, and if I come back to Kalymnos, I'd stay here again. Getting up to the hotel on foot means walking uphill, about five minutes from the embankment or ten from the port. The view from the room is stunning, and the hotel name fits it perfectly. My small, older room was clean and well maintained, with a refrigerator, TV and mini-balcony. The beds were normal and I slept well. Excellent value near the port.

The location and views are great, though the beds are a little hard. In classic Kalymnos fashion, there's no shower-head mount. That's just how they shower here to conserve precious water, not the hotel's fault.

The owner was so nice. I forgot my Kindle just as I was about to leave on the ferry, and they brought it to me. The location's not bad if you want to be near the port. They don't take credit cards, and sometimes you may need to call the owner to get hot water.

Finding the hotel was really hard. From the Kalymnos ferry it took a lot of effort to work out where it was, with no street names, few people to ask in the evening, and confusing Google Maps. It's up on a hill, so getting there with heavy luggage was rough. After dinner, the walk back through the narrow, very dark streets wasn't nice either. The room was tiny, with barely enough space to move around the bed. There were so many mosquitoes that we couldn't leave the windows open, and it was hard to sleep with them around. REALLY DISAPPOINTING!
