This was the worst place we’ve stayed in for at least 10 years. We booked a sea-view room, then got a basement unit and were told that “Sea view” was just its name, not an actual view. The kids’ bed was barely big enough, though luckily they’re not very tall yet. The room, toilet, and shower were all in one space with no separate doors, and there was no ventilation in the shower. The woman managing the place was rude, to put it mildly, and the man at the hotel was the same. They changed the sheets once and never cleaned during our stay. The “jacuzzi” was tiny too, and stayed dirty all week. Old-fashioned Greek-style cheating. Stay away!

Check the exact room in person before paying. I strongly recommend it, because what they prepare for you may not match the pictures. Some rooms might be okay, given all the five-star reviews, but the claim that rooms are cleaned daily seems very strange to me. We got fresh towels and sheets once in six nights. They send you to the main hotel in Pefkari to pay and collect a key, then you go by yourself to see the “magnificent” room they prepared specially for you. I can relate to Plamen Nikolov, who had the room below ours. We left a day early and lost the cost of that night. The price didn’t feel at all justified by the conditions. The room wasn’t clean when we arrived, unless you had an untrained eye. There were ants all over the living area, moldy bathroom tiles, rusty knobs, and battered old furniture. The bathroom fan and freezer made terrible noises, there was a strong sewer smell in the bathroom, and I don’t think the windows had ever been cleaned. You could hear every car and what was going on outside because neither the windows nor door blocked the noise. With two small children, naps and getting them to sleep before 11:00 PM were a nightmare. The walls were so thin we could hear our neighbours farting, never mind other things. There were lots of mosquitoes, so bring special spray. There’s no proper door between the living area and bedroom, just a plastic screen. On the plus side, parking is free, the pool is decent though its deck is starting to fall apart, you can leave the AC on when you go out, and the wifi is good.

The accommodation didn’t match the pictures or what we’d agreed on. From the start, the woman looking after the villa was very rude. She wouldn’t even let us have a glass of water by the pool, and there isn’t a cafe there. In the mornings, when we sat by the pool, she threw pillows at us and made us all leave. After two days we left because the experience was so unpleasant. We contacted the boss about the problems and got no reply. We don’t recommend staying here.

It’s a nice place, but a little overpriced, especially the ground-floor apartment. It’s actually below ground level, with no windows on the other side, so opening the terrace’s front door is the only way to get fresh air, and there’s no circulation. The place is clean and towels are changed every two or three days. There are plenty of wasps and mosquitoes. The pool is shallow, which is great for kids. Free guest parking is just across the street.

Kapahi Seaview cancelled our booking a week before we were due to arrive, saying it was due to technical difficulties. At first they emailed to say only one of our requested room types was available, but that they had a different room. Their next email said that room wasn’t available either and offered another one. We tried calling and emailing for two days, then finally heard that no rooms were available at all. We were travelling as a large group, including one family with four children, so finding somewhere else was difficult. The grandparents were booked at the hotel next door, but we couldn’t find alternative places in the same area, so we cancelled their booking too, at a cost of 88Euros, and spent an extra $1500 on last-minute accommodation. Trying to sort this out over three days of our holiday with poor wifi was stressful and frustrating.
