Anapnoe Resort by ParosKite

The rooms are top-notch, and the service is hard to beat. What made the biggest impression on me, though, was how warm everyone was. The place itself feels like paradise. After traveling around the world for over 30 years, I can say this is my favorite place.

We visited in low season and still had an amazing time. The team was so helpful, and the hospitality was great. The instructor explained things clearly, and I felt I’d made progress this year after my maternity leave. It’s an ideal spot for a kitesurfing holiday, and the accommodation works well for children. Our room was cleaned every day and had plenty of supplies. They even gave us a poncho, so leave a little extra space in your luggage.

The location right on Kite Beach may sound appealing, but our six-night stay brought a lot of stress. We spent two nights in the back rooms, then four in the Orion Villa with a pool. The booking arrangements were chaotic. I had reserved a sea-view villa based on the website and conversations with Irene, the booking manager, but we arrived to find ourselves in Orion, which faces the parking lot. When I raised it, Irene suggested we book somewhere else, even though it was August 15th in peak season. The next day we were offered Casiopia Villa, supposedly with a sea view, but it was still occupied and the guests there hadn’t been told they needed to move. Irene had triple-booked the villas. The website photos are misleading: Orion is shown with a sea view, but overlooks the parking lot. Ask specifically for Casiopia or Cetus if you want a sea view. Orion also isn’t suitable for four people or two couples, with just one bedroom, one bathroom, and a sofa bed in the living room. Its pool shower didn’t work. Internet was unreliable despite the advertised Starlink, and there was no separate bathroom or changing area after checkout. We waited 20 minutes for someone to greet us and show us our room, although we’d given our arrival time. There was no staff available to help us move from the room to the villa, or to deal with urgent needs or appliances. We saw no security or personnel around during the whole stay. Breakfast was limited and the staff were unfriendly. It ends at 10:30 AM; we arrived at 10:33 AM and were refused food even though some was still there. We’d paid for it, and the lack of hospitality was shocking. We only went twice because it was so unpleasant. The gym was accessible only if you paid for a personal trainer, something not mentioned when booking. The property is new and cleaned daily, but the kitchen and pool weren’t included, and towels were changed only every 3 days. There was a money-grabbing feel to the place and zero customer service. This business is run by amateurs. If you want to be at Kite Beach, it may seem convenient, but the double bookings and drama could ruin your holiday. There are plenty of villas five minutes away. The owners made a big investment, but need to hire hospitality professionals. After I posted my honest review, management asked me to remove it instead of apologizing or addressing the problems. Their unapologetic response is why I changed my rating from two stars to one. I strongly advise against this business. I experienced unnecessary drama and didn’t get what I’d booked.

The kite surfing school was a highlight for me. The instructors were patient and knew their stuff, and the relaxed, upbeat feel around the resort made it easy to unwind and meet people. Our host, Themis, gave us a warm welcome, and the rooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated. I had an exceptional stay at Anapnoe Resort by ParosKite. If you want both adventure and time to relax, this feels like a hidden paradise.
