The cleaner is the only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars. She did her job really well. The owner later acted as though he’d told her to clean our room, but that wasn’t how it happened. I saw her working in a nearby room one day and asked her to change our towels. She ended up changing the towels and sheets and cleaning the whole room, as she was supposed to. Before that, I’d sent the owners several messages asking about the towels, and never got a reply. They seemed to remember to message us about checkout time, since we’d have to pay if we left late, but never once checked whether we needed anything. We only needed fresh towels. They need to learn something about hospitality. They know how to take your money and disappear, and make you feel like a source of income instead of a person. The room had mosquitoes, was too small for four of us, two adults and two children, and wasn’t soundproof, so we could hear everything from next door. The bathroom flooded after one shower, and would have been worse after four. The balcony looked out over a dirty suburb with abandoned things everywhere. None of those things bothered me as much as the owners’ indifference. Preveza is a beautiful city and I’ll return there, but I won’t stay here again.
