Palmina Mare Villa and Studios

We’ve now made three trips to Palmina Mare, and it’s a welcome break from the big city’s hustle and bustle. This small family-run hotel has six rooms and a whole villa at the top of the slope. The rooftop terrace gives you a beautiful view and incredible sunsets. The service is personal and always with a smile. Our room is about a minute and a half from the sand, and there’s a small farm supplying the nearby fish taverna. It feels like a dream, a proper getaway for the whole family.

The studio is tastefully decorated, and its rooftop terrace is a lovely place to watch the sunset. A beautiful sandy beach with clear water, great for snorkeling, is just a few minutes away.

This place deserves no stars. We booked through booking, and when we arrived, the air conditioner wasn’t working. We spoke to the owner, who said she couldn’t find anyone to fix it. We asked if she could move us to another room, and we changed rooms. The next day she asked us to move again. We found someone to come repair the air conditioner, and she said she hadn’t checked them this year because nobody had come. I called them, but they never showed up. It was 40 degrees outside, and we slept two nights without air conditioning. The room smelled, and the shower doors were broken. It was the worst experience ever. I’ll never go back, ever.
