Atrium Vinea

The grounds were very quiet, and our room was clean. Everyone was polite, smiling, and keen to help, even though just two days before we arrived they had been dealing with fires that came within a few metres of the estate. I strongly recommend staying here.

Breakfast alone was memorable, with real Greek dishes such as "trachana", eggs from chickens roaming the fields, organic honey from local producers, and proper handmade bread. The resort sits among vineyards in a beautiful natural landscape, with nightingales as the only sound breaking the silence. There's also a winery to visit, described as the first GREEN winery in western Europe, with rare local wines to try. If you have time, they can show you traditional natural winemaking methods said to be over 5,000 years old. A real experience that stayed with me.

Set among vineyards, it has a great location. Breakfast was included, and the welcome was excellent. The room was spotless, the bed very comfortable, and the shower was new and worked well.

We stayed with our camper van at the beautiful Hotel Atrium Vinea in the vineyard, and Dionysia made us feel very welcome. The winery's organic wines are excellent and made to a very high standard. I really enjoyed tasting them with Dionysia, buying a few, and hearing her explain them in English. She's a real wine expert. About 1.5 km away, the nearby town has excellent, authentic Greek food.
