Pyrgi Cretan Living & Spa

Anna made our visit special, from chatting over breakfast to helping whenever we needed something and sharing great local tips. The hotel is in an authentic Cretan village, with lovely design and stunning views, and it’s a place where you can really unwind. It felt like a unique experience, not a typical hotel stay. Pyrgos is about 45 minutes by car from Heraklion, and the trip is well worth it.

Our cottage was just as I’d imagined, with an island style that made it easy to relax. We loved the mountain views and the sound of the cicadas. The nearby restaurants are worth a visit for their simple, homemade food and peaceful, charming atmosphere. We had an infection and weren’t feeling well, but the hosts’ kindness and generous help made us feel much better. We’re very grateful for their hospitality and hope to return someday.

Anna and George are wonderful hosts, and their breakfasts are a real treat. She cooked something a little different each day, which made for a lovely start to our mornings. The hotel is beautiful, stylish, and very comfortable, with a fantastic underground spa and rooftop terraces overlooking the countryside. It’s in a quiet rural village, with lovely countryside and coastal beaches an easy drive away. We adored our stay and will definitely be back.

Pyrgos was a great base for exploring southern Crete, and everyone we met in the village was friendly and welcoming. We spent 10 days at PYRGI, where the rooms were comfortable and beautifully arranged, and the spa was a welcome retreat from the heat. Anna took such generous, thoughtful care of us, and every detail seemed covered. Antonia gave us both incredible Cretan style massages. Highly recommended, and we’ll be back.
