The sea is right there and the view is good, but the room quality and cleanliness weren’t the best, only adequate or maybe below that. There are no supermarkets nearby, which seems to apply to the area. You have to walk to the nearest centre for groceries or to go out, and it’s a long way, especially in the sun. A taxi costs 6-7 euros each way. The hotel bar has limited choices, with not much food or drink. If they renovate and sort out the problems, it could be an amazing place to visit.

The rooms feel like bedrooms in someone’s home, not cold, sterile hotel rooms. They’re nicely presented, and the friendly atmosphere makes it easy to see why people return. Sophie is a wonderful host and runs the hotel so well. It’s perfectly located right by the sea. The beach is great, and you can walk a long way out into the water. Breakfast was a delight every day, with something different each time and always a lovely start to the day. We felt comfortable and welcome throughout.

The owners were so sweet, and we loved staying here. Getting to Pythagoreio costs $7 by taxi, or takes about 25 minutes on foot. There are two car rental places very close by along the way. The room price is affordable and the location is good. I'd go for a sea view room. Samos is a lovely place for a peaceful holiday. I only wish the water had been warmer.

Sofia gave us lots of helpful ideas for beaches and restaurants, and the owners were really friendly. We stayed in a studio right above the beach. The room was clean, and they brought fresh towels each day. We definitely recommend this place!

Rooms could use a bit more comfort, but we had a great stay at Penelope. You can walk to Pythagorion along either the coast or the road. The spot on Samos is gorgeous, with clear water in view and its calming sound nearby.
