We ended up at Avli Lounge Apartments after celebrating nearby and losing track of time. Since our hotel was more than an hour away by car, it was too late to head back. The staff welcomed us so warmly and found us a lovely room for the night at a fair price, breakfast included. The courtyard breakfast was a highlight: orange trees, cats wandering around, and an old-world feel that made it easy to forget the time. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Our room had beautiful historic Venetian touches, including stone walls and authentic details, while still having the modern comforts we needed. Towels and cozy bathrobes were provided, and the room was fully equipped. That night felt like a little trip into history. We’re so glad we found this gem in the heart of the Old Town, and highly recommend it.

Breakfast at Avli restaurant was a real pleasure, and booking here turned out to be a great choice. The place was clean, the rooms comfortable, and it felt like they’d thought of everything. The staff were helpful and friendly. Thanks to the Avli team for making our holiday so nice :)

The dinners were amazing, with fresh ingredients and food that was prepared so well. Everything tasted great and felt really healthy. We thought the restaurant here was the best in Rethymno by far. We stayed in the Blue Room, which is above the Irish Pub. Since we were up late and enjoyed the pub, that suited us. Other visitors might prefer one of the quieter rooms. Ours was beautiful, clean, and very spacious. Breakfast was fantastic, with a great sample of Cretan food. We also loved the wine tasting. Nikos, the sommelier, knows Cretan wines really well and has plenty of experience. The staff were accommodating and helpful, and I’d definitely like to come back.
