We stayed at Bio Beach Boutique Hotel in Rethymno a while ago, and some serious issues have stuck with us. The hotel is beautiful and well located, and most staff were very kind and professional. The bartender was especially friendly and welcoming, one of the best parts of our stay. But at around €3,000 for a week, we expected better on several fronts. One evening around 6:30 PM, we were napping after a long hike when someone knocked, then unlocked the door and walked in before we could get dressed or answer. I was half asleep in a T-shirt and underwear when a man came in saying he was there to check the jacuzzi. Nobody had told us anyone would enter, and the front desk hadn't called or messaged first. It was a serious breach of privacy. I can't imagine how frightening it would have been if my husband hadn't been there and I'd woken up alone with a stranger in the room. The elevator jolted so hard that for a moment we thought its cable had snapped. Reception brushed it off as something that sometimes happens. We later heard other guests had experienced it too. If the hotel knows about a safety issue like that, guests should be warned at check-in. We also felt judged for using the Do Not Disturb setting. We're night owls, sometimes used the jacuzzi at night, then slept in. Since we were there for only a week, we didn't need daily cleaning. The privacy setting is something the hotel offers, so staff shouldn't make guests feel bad for using it. The friendly staff made many parts of the stay enjoyable, and the hotel has potential, but the poor communication about room entry, safety concerns, and disregard for guest boundaries left a lasting bad impression. These things shouldn't happen at a hotel at this price.

Without a doubt, the best burger in all of rethymno. The beachfront restaurant and chairs on the beach are open to people who aren't hotel guests as well. I can't comment on the hotel itself, though the facilities look top notch and clean, and the service is good.

We got a cake and bottle of wine as a surprise for our 10 year anniversary, such a treat. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the beach view from breakfast was beautiful. The hotel was very clean and laid out so nicely. Our room was gorgeous, big, bright, modern, and had outstanding views. Breakfast wasn't amazing, but it had everything you need. We'll definitely be back!

I almost didn't go to the beach because the view from the big balcony was so good. We had the Jacuzzi room, with a separate toilet and bath, and I'd strongly recommend it. You can reserve it by phone or in person. The hotel is new and very modern, and the rooms have everything you need. It's definitely the best hotel in the region. The restaurant staff and barman were great, and Katerini at reception deserves praise too. My one criticism is the administration's organization. I wanted to stay at least two weeks and it was possible to arrange, but we didn't agree on the details, so I left after a week. I mean that as a friendly remark. I'll definitely come again and might make this my base hotel in south Greece, so I hope the reservation details are clearer next time. It's a great hotel and I strongly recommend it.

Ending the day in the jacuzzi was a big plus. It's a modern, clean little hotel with a family feel, where staff pitch in when help is needed. The rooms were clean, the beds were big and comfortable, and the flushing system worked well. The housekeeping staff were amazing, friendly, and helpful; the receptionist was welcoming, and the barman was extremely helpful too. The breakfast, lunch, and breakfast staff did a fantastic job. Even when things got hectic, they stayed calm and friendly. It's a good mix of ages on the team, and they create a lovely atmosphere. A little hotel with a big welcome, definitely worth a visit.
