Alex and Genny at reception were especially helpful, and the cleaner kept my room fresh every day, changing the bedding and towels every couple of days. All the staff went out of their way to help me feel welcome, comfortable and safe. The hotel was just as advertised, with everything I needed and an easy walk to the beach, shops, supermarkets and old town. Traffic from the busy junction was the one downside, though I got used to it after a couple of nights. Big thanks to everyone, I'd recommend staying here.

The rooms and hotel were great, and the other staff were excellent. But I had a really bad experience with the grey-haired night receptionist. We asked politely for soap to wash with, interrupting what seemed to be a phone game he was playing while on duty. He then made a comment about my weight, telling me to follow him to the second floor because it was free exercise. Comments about someone's body like that shouldn't be tolerated. The hotel needs to take this issue seriously. It was unfortunate for the hotel and its reputation, especially since he seemed not to want to be working there.

It's only a few minutes on foot to both the beach and Rethymno's charming old town, which made the location really convenient. I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Elina. My room was clean and comfortable, and the friendly, attentive staff made me feel welcome throughout. Highly recommended for a pleasant stay in Rethymno.

The staff were lovely and helpful, even lending me luggage scales, and breakfast was plentiful. Rooms were clean, and the beach and old town are just a few minutes' walk away. With the windows open, though, quite a lot of street noise comes in. The pool is small and shady, and parking nearby is unfortunately very difficult.

Evgenia at reception was the best, always ready to help with anything I needed. The hotel was very nice, with quiet, comfortable rooms close to both the sea and old town. Highly recommended!
