Grecotel Plaza Beach House

The cleaning could be better, especially the housekeeping team's attention to detail. Still, the staff were great. Breakfast staff were amazing and always around, while reception were kind and professional. I had a good stay.

The location is brilliant, with the beach right outside and the old town about 40 minutes away from the hotel. The room wasn't great, though, and there were cleanliness issues, plus problems with the shower and towels. The sunbeds were a disaster. Staff were lovely and service was excellent, especially at the front of house. Thanks in particular to Sofia, Theo, Mickail, and Kalliopi. Kalliopi was attentive, supportive, approachable, and presentable. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and she was courteous, polite, and professional throughout. She's a real asset to the hotel.

The breakfast had plenty of choice, including omelets made to order, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our sea view apartment was clean and had everything we needed. It wasn't brand new, but everything worked, and I didn't find it outdated. We'd seen negative reviews about the rooms after booking, so we arrived a little worried. We stayed six days in August, and the hotel's location worked well: the beach is just across the street, with great waiter service there, and the old city is nearby. The street has lots of shops and restaurants, including Manolis place. There's also private parking on a nearby street.

The management made an effort to help us feel comfortable and listened with genuine interest to our feedback. We appreciate that, and hope to see the hotel keep improving. The staff were extremely polite, and the exterior architecture was interesting, which had led us to overlook some problems. For the price, though, it was disappointing and poor value. Our maisonette was badly equipped and not functional: downstairs there was no mirror except in the tiny bathroom, and no TV. The 70x70 cm shower cabin had very low water pressure. We had half-board but ate there only once because the food quality was unacceptable. The pools were small and usually crowded, sunbeds were hard to find, and there was a lot of noise. The rooms had no soundproofing, so we heard everything around us. Without the air conditioning running 24/7, the room was impossible to stay in. The interior felt straight out of the 90s or early 2000s. Definitely not worth what we paid, and probably suited only to mass tourism.
