Ibiscos Garden Hotel

We found the hotel very easy to get around from. The beach is only a couple of minutes away and easy to reach. The old town is technically about a 25-minute walk, but in the heat or with a child it can take much longer. Getting a taxi back from there is easy, while arranging one from the hotel into town is a bit harder, so plan ahead. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped, if not especially fancy. The pools were great. Some reviews mention trouble finding sunbeds, and maybe it depends on the other guests: at the start of our stay, the main pool beds were taken by 7.30, though there were still some by the jasmine and octopus pools. Later on, sunbeds were still free at 10.30. Everyone on staff, including the Tui reps, was fantastic and always willing to help. Breakfast was included and good, and we ate dinner at the restaurant twice as well. Both meals were great and well priced. The shop on site is well stocked, and there’s also a large supermarket less than five minutes away, so between them you can get what you need. The entertainment was good, and the children liked the soft play and the other activities put on by the reps. We missed the Greek night at the hotel, but found one several nights a week at a restaurant near the roundabout, about five minutes away.

This was our second visit, and it’s a great place to bring the kids. We tried a superior room this time and really liked it. It was kept immaculately clean. Breakfast is buffet style with lots of choice, and the lunch and dinner options are good if you don’t feel like walking to one of the many nearby restaurants. The kids’ pool gets sun all day, and the beach is a short walk away. Most of all, the people who work here go out of their way to make your stay wonderful.

The bed was the most comfortable I've ever had abroad, and I’d happily come back. The hotel is lovely and clean, though the rooms feel a bit dated. They have great air conditioning and a fan, plus a fridge and hob, but no microwave or oven. There are three pools with plenty of sunbeds. Soft drinks felt pricey at 4.40 for a small one, while beer was cheap, especially at happy hour. The restaurant is good value and serves big portions. It’s about a 25-minute walk to the old town and just five minutes to the beach. The reps were really friendly, but the two women on reception seemed a bit surly, especially when I was leaving and hadn’t realized there was a tourist tax of 3 euros per room per night. It might be better to collect that at the start of the holiday.

We used this 3-star hotel as a base for exploring and would definitely stay again. The staff were exceptional, especially Anna on reception, who was happy to give advice on things to do and see. Our studio, room 215, was near the main restaurant and overlooked the pool. It was basic but had what we needed, and sleeping with the air conditioning and fan on was no problem. We usually reached the pool after 10am and had no trouble finding sunbeds. Beds do get reserved early, but there are plenty to choose from and move where you want. If you have a particular spot in mind, get there early. The sun reaches every part of the pool during the day. The onsite supermarket is well stocked, and there are more shops along the seafront. Breakfast costs €14 and has plenty to choose from; lunch and dinner are ordered from the menu. We ate out every night and especially liked Nostos, just around the corner. There's a lot of choice in the old town too, about a 20-minute walk away, including great restaurants and cocktail bars. We liked the bar at the start of the harbour. Restaurants prefer cash but accept cards. One thing to know: the walk to the old town is hot and into the sun. We travelled from 4th to 11 July, two adults and two 16 year olds.
