Ikones Seafront Luxury Suites - Adults Only

The view from the hotel looks straight out over the sea, and the beach was lovely too. Our room was always clean, organized, and well kept. The staff were especially helpful, particularly Tanja, and the restaurant team were very friendly, especially Yannis. The head chef did an amazing job as well. The food was fantastic and delicious. I stayed at this hotel in Crete and was absolutely thrilled with everything.

The personal touches made our honeymoon feel especially memorable. Alma kept our room immaculate and added thoughtful decorations. Sofia and Maria from concierge were always ready with recommendations, information, and support, which made everything easy. We also really appreciated the restaurant team. Rodothea checked in on us, chatted, and made sure everything was right. Christiana, Nikitas, Leo, Yiannis, and Katerina were all attentive and friendly, greeting us with smiles and laughter throughout our stay. The food was outstanding, and Giorgos and the chef team kept the quality high while making extra vegetarian options for us. That flexibility and care meant a lot. Ikones Seafront Luxury Suites is beautiful, but it’s the people who make it so special. It was a memorable stay, and we’d highly recommend Ikones for a relaxing, high-quality visit with genuinely wonderful service.

We stayed for a week at Ikones Seafront Luxury Suites, just outside Rethymno Old Town. It’s about a 45-minute walk along the seafront promenade. The room was spacious, faced away at the back towards the pool, and stayed quiet. The bar was relaxing, with sea views and a DJ on some evenings. The buffet food was excellent and varied, with a different theme each evening, such as Greek or Italian. Staff were very friendly and the service was great. It’s an easy five-star recommendation, and we’d happily return. Friendly, clean, good quality, and great value. Top-notch!

The calm atmosphere was a real plus. The hotel has a no-children policy, which helped it feel more relaxing than the bigger family resorts nearby. When we arrived late, the staff even saved dinner for us after the buffet had closed. We also had a massage with Tania at Melody Spa, which was really good and relaxing. The price is high, but hotel guests get 20€ off, and the staff were very professional. The hotel is directly by the beach, across the street, with local supermarkets, restaurants, and bars nearby. Rethymno old town is around an eight-minute drive away. There was meant to be a bus, but we never managed to catch one, so we used Freenow taxis, around 10€ per trip. The gym was quite well equipped. The decor throughout the hotel was lovely, not just in the rooms, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We booked half-board, and dinner had plenty of variety with a different theme every night. Still, I wish we'd booked breakfast only, since hotel dinners meant we missed out on trying nearby local taverns. I gave four stars for a few things: we were charged 15€ per night in tax at the end, which we hadn't been told about beforehand, though we booked through a third party so that may have been outside the hotel's control. The main pool was nice but too short for proper swimming. We had a swim-up suite, so we could swim there, but it would be very loud for the neighbors. The shower has a glass wall without a door, so using the overhead shower makes a flooded mess every time. To me that's an exotic but non-functional design. Even so, I still think this is one of the best options in Rethymno if you want direct beach access.
