Katrina Apartment 1 Ground Floor

NEVER AGAIN! We were first sent to the wrong accommodation, where the bed hadn’t been changed and someone else had slept in it. For our first night we had to use a stained sofa, and nobody even apologized for the mix-up. The building also has no terrace or garden, despite what Katrina House’s website says. There was no oven or washing machine, the kettle didn’t work, and the TV’s satellite connection had no watchable channels. Towels and bedding were changed just once a week. People in the area know this is a horrible place to stay, so be warned and avoid it. They charge three times more than it’s worth. I wouldn’t say it’s worth even €30 a night.

The apartment was roomy and the location was great, but we had no hot water. We booked three nights and are leaving a day early because it still hasn’t been fixed. Someone was meant to come today, but nobody has shown up.

The bedroom was the worst part. The sheets, bedspread, and mattress cover had makeup stains and hair left by previous guests, and there were bugs everywhere. The bathroom was dirty too, with a visibly clogged sink and a shower leaking at the sides. Parking is supposedly free, but that only helps if you can find a space. My apartment, number 2, had a window practically on the street, so it was dirty and noisy. One of my worst stays!

We had a great stay in the superior apartment. It was spacious and clean, with a well-equipped kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. Every room had air conditioning. The place is right in the city center on a quiet street, and there’s a roof terrace.
