Kleoniki Mare Hotel

You get good value for what you pay here. The hotel is clean, with daily cleaning, fresh towels, and new bed sheets each day. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and there was always hot water. There’s also a nice terrace for relaxing in the afternoon.

The hotel is clean and good quality, and the woman at reception was super nice. It’s a pleasant walk along the beach to the old town’s restaurants and nightlife, about ten minutes away. Nights are quiet, and the pool and air conditioning help you cool off. Worth the money.

The staff were really nice, and the rooms were spacious and cleaned daily. It’s a handy spot in Rethymnon, close to the beach and restaurants, with a small pool too. The shower is quite cramped, and breakfast was the same each day with limited variety. This is more of a 2- or 3-star hotel, depending where you look, so don’t come expecting 4-star amenities. For a clean room at a decent price, I’d recommend it.

The location really worked for us. There’s a supermarket, cafes, restaurants, car rentals, ATMs and pharmacies nearby, and the beach is just around the corner even though the hotel sits behind the block without a sea view. We enjoyed walking along the promenade to the Old Town and Marina, about 15 minutes away, and never bothered with a taxi. It seems especially handy outside tourist season, when nearby shops are used by local people too. The building’s a little dated, but clean and well cared for, and service was good. Our kitchenette and air conditioning both worked. The small pool was regularly cleaned. Free Wi-Fi kept freezing when everyone was awake, so it may not be fast enough for busy times. We felt we got good value and would consider staying again if we’re in the area and the price suits.
