The one thing I liked was how close the hotel is to the city, with cafes and restaurants easy to reach. But the room looked much worse than the booking photo, and the hotel needs renovation. There were ants in the bathroom, no beach towels, and although cleaning happened daily, it wasn’t done well and sand was left on the floor. We also had trouble finding an English-speaking staff member when we arrived, and it took 20 minutes of explanations before we got the keys. Breakfast wasn’t worth buying: if you don’t eat sausage, it’s bread, Nutella and Greek yogurt, which gets hard to eat every day. The street nearby is very noisy, so you have to sleep with the door closed or earplugs. Then you need to adjust the air conditioner so you don’t get sick while still letting air in.

The location suited us perfectly, close to the town center for a late-night walk. The beach was nearby too, about a 15-minute walk.

The location made this hotel for us. It’s close to the old town without being right in the middle of the late night crowds, and there are supermarkets, pharmacies, the hospital, and Rethimno's garden-park nearby. Breakfast was generous, and the view from the breakfast room is stunning. Our room was clean and spacious, and the staff were ready to help with anything. We loved it.

We only stayed one night and just wanted a basic room with a bed and its own bathroom, so the simple setup suited us fine. Everything in the city center was walkable, though the road beside the hotel brought some noise. There’s a pool too, but we didn’t try it.
