Eltina Hotel

The pool was spotless and good for kids, and the hotel stayed quiet all day. It’s close to the beach, with a supermarket right across the road. Our room was so, so clean, and the staff were amazingly friendly and ready to help whenever we needed. The breakfast was amazing too. BEST HOTEL I’ve ever stayed in. TOTALLY RECOMMEND IT, 100% VALUE FOR MONEY.

The breakfast was delicious, with plenty to choose from every day, and the staff were kind, attentive, informative, and spoke English very well. My partner and I stayed in the recently renovated part. The room had charm and enough space for two adults, though it wasn’t spacious. It’s a solid location: the city beach is around a 2-3 minute walk, and there’s a well-stocked supermarket across the street. A very pleasant stay, and I’d recommend it to young couples visiting Crete.

The ground-floor rooms had a persistent cat-like smell inside and outside, which I personally hate and found bothersome. The rooms do have everything you need, and the location is very good, far enough away yet close enough. The staff weren’t very friendly, especially the receptionist. When we arrived, she was busy with another customer and left us waiting a long time without even acknowledging us.

For the price, the room was fair, neither especially impressive nor bad. I liked the friendly staff, the roomy fridge, and the surprisingly nice rain shower. The drawbacks were the two single beds pushed together instead of a proper double, and a broken mosquito net, not great in warm weather. A decent budget stay.
