Giorgos gave us great tips on places to see, restaurants to try, and beaches to swim at in Rethymno. He made sure we had everything we needed during our three nights at Makry Steno, where I stayed with a friend. The apartment was comfortable and fully equipped, and Makry Steno is right in the old city centre, within walking distance of everything. We left with a great impression and I’d recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Rethymno.
Giorgios is a really friendly, helpful host who looks after several cozy apartments. Ours had two beds, AC, a working kitchen setup, shower and toilet, and free Wi-Fi. We also made use of the rooftop terrace for breakfast and supper. I recommend staying here.
I spent about four months at Makri Steno and had a wonderful experience. It’s right in the heart of the old town, an easy walk from everything, but far enough from the main strip that late-night noise won’t disturb you. The roof has lovely city views, and Georgos and his family are wonderful people who are keen to help with whatever you need. Do yourself a favor and stay at Makri Steno!
George gave us such a warm welcome and was really helpful. The well-equipped room is on a charming street, right in the middle of it all. There’s also a rooftop terrace, a lovely spot to relax or have breakfast early in the morning.
The owners were so welcoming and helpful, thank you for everything. We had an amazing stay at this hotel, right in the center of Rethymno.
