Evie was so helpful with her advice and hospitality. The building has loads of character, and our room was gorgeous, quiet, and had a wonderful, really comfortable king-size bed. It’s a fantastic location, with plenty of shops for breakfast, lunch, and dinner nearby. There’s no lift since it’s a renovated historic building, but it’s only two levels, and Evie offered to help carry our bags.

At midnight, after we’d been unable to sleep, we were told to try sleeping somewhere else. Every hotel nearby was full, and I even thought about sleeping outside on the terrace, but the noise was unbearable there too. I was seven months pregnant and had booked this one-night stay as a peaceful baby moon. Instead, water from the leaking air conditioner flooded the room, and the staff gave us a few towels to handle it ourselves. A loud noise from the bathroom continued all night. We reported both problems in the afternoon, but no real solution was offered, and we got no sleep. We complained and never heard back from the manager. When I called, the receptionist said, word for word, “It only cost you €90, it’s nothing, I don’t understand why you’re complaining.” That was deeply disrespectful and lacking in empathy toward me and my husband, who couldn’t get even an hour’s rest because of serious issues that should never have happened. I strongly advise against staying here. It was a complete nightmare. It’s a pity I can’t share videos.

Evi was AMAZING. She arranged transport for us and suggested restaurants. We only spent one night here, but would stay longer next time we’re in Rethymno. The hotel is on a quiet street, and our room was spacious, with a terrace.

The hotel is in a good spot and the staff are friendly, but I had the worst experience of my life. We couldn’t sleep because the ventilation was so noisy. The rooms have serious problems with noise and insulation. I don’t understand the positive reviews. The staff don’t care, and the manager was nowhere to be found. There are plenty of other places on the same street where we slept perfectly.
