North Coast Seaside Suites

The sea views from this place are among the closest I've seen in the area, and they were absolutely sensational. The suite was modern, quiet and clean, and the location was great. Friendly staff too. I'll be back 😎

North Coast Seaside Luxury Suites was our base for nearly a week of island trips in June 2024, and it was a real little gem. The building is small, so it felt cozy and never crowded. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and everything was well kept. We had our own sunbeds by the beach access, always in good condition, and parking by the lifeguard tower made getting around easy. Beautiful Rethymno was close by too. We'd fallen for the apartment in the online photos, especially the kitchen, which matters a lot to us. The balcony sea view lived up to the dream. We even made a habit of having orange juice out there each morning. We've never returned to the same holiday spot before, but North Coast could change that! 🌅🍊

Our room was clean, and the small bathroom was well equipped. The place is beautifully set by the sea, about a 30-minute walk from Rethymno's old town. We booked two rooms for four people, but their system showed only two guests. It was a Booking error, and they weren't very cooperative, so they charged us breakfast for the “extra” guests. We had to sort it out with Booking. Our street-side room was noisy. The Cretan breakfast omelette was watery, and the bread soaked it up. Breakfast came in a container and looked nothing like the pictures. The classic menu was better, though not worth 15 euros.

Parking was handy, and the apartments themselves were nice and clean, but there were few positives beyond that. The kitchen was missing basic utensils, so cooking there was almost impossible. The bathroom fan was incredibly loud. The apartments are right on a very busy, noisy road, and we heard traffic all night with the windows and doors shut. We couldn't use the balcony at all during our stay. We also faced a construction site, whose dust and dirt collected on the balcony and our clothes. The beach right outside was convenient, but not very nice, and hardly anyone seemed to use it.
