Omma Suites

The old town was right there, which made exploring easy. I stayed at Omma Suites for one night in April 2025, and the welcome was lovely. The check-in was smooth, the receptionist was warm and accommodating, and after we settled in they even knocked with a complimentary bottle of white wine. Beforehand, I’d received several emails with driving directions, restaurant suggestions, and other details to get ready for the stay. I did notice noise from the restaurants below the terrace at bedtime. It’s a lively street, so music is expected, but I was surprised how much came through the windows. The automatic shower and toilet lights also stayed on for a while when I got up during the night. The toilet light was fine, though the shower’s glass wall faces the room, with only a thin curtain, so it made the room quite bright for several minutes. The blackout curtains did a great job keeping the room dark otherwise, including blocking the terrace lights, which can’t be fully turned off. These were small drawbacks in an otherwise wonderful stay. If you’re a light sleeper, earplugs and a sleep mask might come in handy. Thanks, Omma, I’d stay again if I’m in town.

Getting around was easy: the hotel is a short walk from the old town, beach, restaurants, and markets. There was no self-service restaurant, but a place nearby served us delicious breakfast each day. Our outdoor jacuzzi was a highlight, and it was clean and disinfected. The hotel was very clean too, with lovely-smelling sheets and towels, just like the photos. Since we arrived on a Saturday night, the attentive, sympathetic staff and management helped us with the transfer and check-in. We enjoyed the stay a lot and recommend it.

The balcony view of the port was beautiful, and we loved the suite’s layout and its spot in the heart of the old town. The suite was very clean, and the staff were friendly and ready to help. Rethymno seems like a great place for someone visiting Crete for the first time. It’d be an ideal getaway for a couple, and we’d love to stay here again.

We had a great time at Omma Suites in Rethymno over Greek Orthodox Easter, and would definitely return. Next time, we’d choose a sea-view suite with the outdoor jacuzzi. We were looking for an in-suite jacuzzi, and this place in the historic old town fit the bill. Everything we wanted was within walking distance, and nearby public parking cost 5 euros for the day. Reception wouldn’t be staffed when we arrived because of Easter, but they sent three detailed emails ahead of time with everything we might need. Check-in went smoothly. The room had plenty of amenities, free coffee and tea, a free bottle of water, and tableware including plates, glasses, cutlery, and a wine opener. There were lots of outlets by the table and on both sides of the bed, plus USB ports. We had a city-view room, though I got to see one of the sea-view rooms before checkout. There were enough towels and bathrobes too. The one problem was breakfast on Easter Sunday, a public holiday in Greece. Omma Suites arranged breakfast at a nearby cafeteria, but because of a misunderstanding between its manager and owner, nobody had told them it would be closed that day. We contacted the manager at Omma Suites. Ten minutes later they confirmed the cafeteria wouldn’t open and said they hadn’t been given advance notice. They offered a discount on the price we’d agreed to pay and another discount for a future visit.
