We got great value at Polyxenia Suites for the price we paid, having booked months in advance. My wife and I would absolutely stay there again if we’re lucky enough to return to Rethymno. We really can’t say enough good things about our time there. The property is full of character, immaculately clean and clearly well maintained, right in the heart of Rethymno’s historic Old Town. A maze of narrow streets, boutique shops, traditional tavernas and lively bars is just outside. Our host, Giannis, grew up in the building, and his warm hospitality shaped the whole stay. He carried our bags up to our second-floor room, which we genuinely appreciated. At 67 I’m still fit, but hauling both my wife’s and my luggage up several flights isn’t as effortless as it used to be. The bed was very comfortable, and the suite felt thoughtfully cared for.

Giannis was a gracious, kind host, flexible with us and always quick to reply. We loved the personal touches, including delicious coffee and homemade wine and cake from his mother and family. The city view was beautiful, and the AC was a lifesaver. We had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation in Crete, and we’re looking forward to staying here again.

We loved sitting out on the wrap-around balcony with coffee each morning and watching Rethymno wake up. The rooms are great, and the location is close to plenty of restaurants and shops, with the Fortress a five-minute walk away. Giannis was a fantastic host. We had a great time in Rethymno and would highly recommend it.

Helpful owner and good price. The place was clean, with daily service, and the views were nice. It’s right in the heart of Reythemo, though there’s no lift and you’ll have a number of stairs to manage.

After 10 weeks of travelling, this was the best place we stayed. The accommodation and location were great, and Gianniss was an amazing host, greeting us with a huge friendly smile. Our unit was on the square beside a beautiful church. Sitting on the balcony was a pleasure, with all the restaurants and shops below. We spent all 3 nights at the Polyxenia suites and loved it. There was cake made by his mother waiting on arrival, along with homemade drinks and cold water in the fridge. WE WILL RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE.
