Butterfly

At Butterfly Hotel in Rhodes, we had a serious bed bug problem. We were bitten, had allergic reactions and needed a doctor's visit. We changed rooms three times, and all our belongings had to be dry-cleaned, which clearly points to a serious infestation. There were other bugs and larvae too, and the hygiene was nonexistent. Both the hotel and KonTiki Travel denied responsibility despite the clear evidence. This ruined our holiday. It was a hellish experience, and I wish I could give zero stars. I can't recommend the hotel or the agency, which didn't stand behind its clients.

I loved the location, and the employees were all really kind and generous. The rooms are dated, though nothing was actually bad. Housekeeping changed the sheets and towels every day or every other day. I was on vacation and at the beach all day, so I only used the room to sleep. For me, the important thing was that it was clean, and it was.

The location was the one good point, right near both the beaches and the shops. The rooms, though, were dirty and worn, with water damage, a musty smell and dampness. They were cleaned daily but still looked dirty. We were offered a chance to move after complaining, but none of the rooms we saw felt clean enough, and they all smelled musty. Breakfast wasn't good either. It was the same food every day with very little choice.

A good base for exploring Rodhos. The room was clean, towels were replaced daily, and breakfast was okay. Everyone at the hotel was very nice. It's not the place for anyone looking for luxury, but the location is great.
