G92 City Hotel

Breakfast was the same each day, though there was a decent range: toast and regular bread, cheese, ham, fried and boiled eggs, omelette, mini sausages, bacon, cereal, jam, milk, orange drink, and filter coffee that was a bit weak. The lift is tiny, enough for one person with a suitcase or two people squeezed in. I also missed having a room safe, even though they guarantee for things. There was a small fridge and TV, while the balcony view wasn’t much, but we spent most of our time at the beach anyway. The main drawbacks were the lack of hot water early in the morning, possibly because it’s solar heated, though I can’t be sure, and just one power outlet, far from the bed in our room. So charging a phone overnight within reach wasn’t possible. It’s a 2-star hotel, so expectations should fit that. The rooms were clean and well maintained, cleaned daily, and fresh towels were available whenever needed. For a summer holiday at this price, it’s a solid option, even if it isn’t perfect.

The breakfast was the same every morning and tasted awful. The plates seemed greasy and not properly washed. The reception staff were rude and unhelpful. We asked politely to have the bed fixed, but it stayed broken for the rest of our stay. The place was among the dirtiest hotels I’ve been to. The bed board broke as soon as I sat down, every towel had stains, and the pillows and mattress smelled terrible, like they’d never been washed. Dust covered the air conditioner, all the chairs were broken, and the stained shower curtain made us afraid to touch it while showering. I won’t stay there again.

The staff were very friendly and brought extra towels or pillows whenever we asked. The room was small, but clean, with new furniture, a renovated bathroom, and a comfortable bed. Shops and restaurants are all around the city center, while the beach and old town are only a few minutes away. Breakfast was the same each day and could use fresh fruit and vegetables, plant milk, and a wider cheese selection. Still, for a 2-star hotel, the stay was very nice and everything was as good as, or better than, I expected.

We chose the hotel for its location and booked twin beds for three nights, but after payment we were told we’d have a single room with one bed and two pillows. Two pillows don’t turn it into a double bed, and at the last minute we couldn’t leave for another hotel. For the following two nights we did get twin beds, though the springs were very noticeable. The rooms generally felt poorly kept. The location itself is good.
