Galini Apartment

Everything is within walking distance, including the old town market, port, and beach. The kitchen has the basic utensils, and the AC works well. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Getting in means climbing a few steps, and there are steps inside too. The neighborhood cats are adorable.

A very pleasant apartment in a quiet part of the old town, just a short walk from its center. Two really nice restaurants, Nimmos and Laganis, are nearby.

The location in the old town was good, and the relatively low price nudged my rating up a bit. The private accommodation itself was quite good, with adequate furnishings, but many things felt dated. The mirror light in the bathroom didn’t work. There was also a sign by the door with a huge woodlouse on it, which put me off at first, though they seem to live only outside the apartment. Some basics for cooking were missing, such as salt and oil, and the internet was extremely unreliable and barely usable. I asked the hosts for help finding cooking ingredients, but got no reply. A friendly man in the apartment next door gave me salt, and I ended up buying a bottle of oil just for that meal. It’s a shame to plan a meal and then find the promised basics aren’t there, especially since this could have been fixed easily. My written request was ignored. So, 3.5 out of 5 stars, and the location and price make the rating a little better than the actual stay.
