Helena Hotel

The pool rules were especially frustrating: we couldn't even have our own drinks there, and they wanted to charge us for everything. The hotel itself was very dirty, and the staff came across as angry and dismissive whenever we raised something. They shouted at us in front of other guests more than once, which was awful. The manager was even more disrespectful. We left very unhappy and wouldn't recommend staying here.

The receptionist at this horrible hotel fell asleep on the couch. Staff were rude and kept coming into our room. I also saw them pour washing water into the pool. Their response was that the chlorine would take care of it 🤢🤮

The location and staff were the only positives for us. We had an accident with a lamp cover, and the owner demanded €50. We found the same lamp for €30, but when we politely asked about the price, she yelled at us and shut the door in our faces. She was rude to guests and staff and constantly shouted at the workers. We also heard her making fun of the Booking.com reviews. There weren't enough towels or sheets for the cleaners to do their jobs properly. After 9 pm, the shower water wasn't warm, and breakfast was always cold and not fresh. The owner made the stay terrible. I'd avoid this place at all costs, even if it meant paying another €50 for a much nicer hotel.

The air conditioning didn't work, so we tried to spend as little time as possible in the hotel. Sleeping was awful, and there were mosquitoes too. We had to use the same towels for seven days. At breakfast, I kept seeing employees arguing at reception. The worst surprise came near the end of the holiday, when I saw the woman cleaning the apartment terrace pour dirty water straight into the pool. This hotel ruined my vacation, and I couldn't wait to get home. Avoid it if you don't want it to spoil your impression of Rhodes.
