Kahlua Hotel Apartments

The girls who worked there, who weren't the owners, were really friendly and seemed to understand why we left the next morning. But the apartment itself was one of the ugliest and dirtiest places someone could stay in Rhodes. It was advertised as renovated and beautiful, though it looked like only some apartments had been renovated. When we booked, we were told, “we are sorry this is only left.” There were broken mirrors and lights that didn't work, and the main door looked like a bathroom door. Owners, you've got a long way to go before this place matches the money you charge or deserves to be called an apartment. Definitely not recommended.

The location is pretty great and the room was okay, so I think it was good value for money. The reception staff were always helpful and nice, fresh towels came daily, and they usually made the beds each day. But I booked a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen and was given a room without a kitchen and with three separate single beds. The sound insulation was poor. I could hear the neighbors chatting on their balcony as if they were right beside me, even with my door closed and the air conditioning on. I didn't sleep very well. Loud doors woke me each morning as people started leaving, and the shower leaked. If you're a light sleeper like me, maybe don't stay here.

The rooms were clean and cosy, and staff kept them that way each day. They were genuinely interested in our comfort and well-being. Service was hospitable, and I'm fond of Finnish people. They can also arrange affiliated taxis to the airport or elsewhere around Rhodes. The location was nice, though the view from the room wasn't great. Noise carried between rooms, and other guests smoking was sometimes annoying.

The owners are lovely and supportive, and the place is cleaned every day. There's an elevator too. On foot, the beach is five minutes away, the pedestrian street with restaurants is three, and other restaurants are downstairs. The supermarket is on the ground floor, the port takes ten minutes, the laundrette seven, and the old town fifteen. It's a great place for a holiday, including a first visit, since you're close to almost everything in the city. Next time I'm in Rhodes I'll stay at Kahlua Apartments again. I really recommend it.
