Hotel Acandia

The location is the biggest plus: central and close to everything, but quiet and set away from the busiest streets. Our room was clean and generally comfortable. There were several letdowns. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, and there was no proper blanket. The bathroom soap and toiletries were poor in both smell and quantity, while the bathrobes were uncomfortable and shed fabric. Water and coffee were only supplied once, with no daily refills. Breakfast fell short too. The seating area wasn’t very comfortable and was far from the food, the selection was average, the coffee was bad and the pastries disappointing. The pool area also smelled of cooking and food all the time because the kitchen is nearby. A few details need attention to make a stay more enjoyable.

The location is hard to beat, with supermarkets, the sea and everything else within walking distance. There’s also a lovely sunny pool area and a quality food and drinks menu. We arrived around 11:30 a.m. and our family room was already ready, with a fruit platter and bottle of wine waiting. They’d even set up a baby crib in advance. Reception went out of their way to make us comfortable, including preparing breakfast boxes when we needed them. Special thanks to the gentleman who greeted us on day one, gave us a full tour of the hotel and provided top-tier service, and to Chrysa and Micholis. All three were fantastic. Breakfast was a delight, and the staff throughout the hotel, from the restaurant and bar to the floors, were friendly and welcoming. Everything was perfect. A huge thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Location, cleanliness and polite staff were the main positives. The breakfast and dinner buffets were fine, but the dishes had no labels and the tags were scattered around the room, so we had to ask staff what things were. I’ve never run into that before. A bit more professionalism would be appreciated. Amenities in the room, like shampoo and tea bags, weren’t replaced unless we asked at reception. I also asked the maid for q-tips, but she couldn’t tell which of the two boxes contained them.

The pool area was lovely, and we had a brilliant stay. The annex was across from a supermarket, next to jonnys pub, where we became regulars, and a short walk from the beach. It was about a 20-minute walk to the old old town. Breakfast being included was a great bonus. We stayed in the annex, so I can’t comment on the hotel rooms. The maintenance staff were amazing, bringing fresh towels every day and clean bedding. Reception were lovely too. I can’t remember her name, but I think the student staff member who showed us the apartment was called Beth. She was so welcoming and polite, a real breath of fresh air. I’d 100% stay here again.
