Kalithea Horizon Blu

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel's private beach was lovely, with plenty of free sun loungers every day. The restaurant was inviting and had a modest but varied selection with something for everyone. All the waiters were friendly, though some came toward us so quickly we nearly collided unless we moved. Our plates were also sometimes cleared the moment we finished, which was a bit annoying. The staff could perhaps use more training on that. We'd originally booked Kalithea Horizon Royal, then got upgraded to Kalithea Horizon Blu. The complex is quite new and well maintained, and our room with a private pool was very nice. The bathroom drain did smell unpleasant, though. The room service was generally good, but housekeeping staff talking loudly in the hall around 6 a.m. woke me each morning. Twice, the fresh toilet paper had large yellow stains. We threw those rolls away right away because we didn't know what they were, and on the last day there was no new roll at all. The music at meals was hit and miss. Greek folk music was pleasant, but at other times it felt like a hotel by a party district. Party hits from the 2010s felt out of place in a five-star restaurant.

We had dinner at the new neighboring Kalithea Horizon Blu while staying at Horizon Royal in Kalithea, so I can only speak to the Blu's location, service, food, and restaurant atmosphere. The food was first-class, and the service was very attentive, friendly, and courteous. The restaurant felt comfortable, and we had a lovely evening. It sits right on the beach near a small fishing harbor. White marble throughout the complex, along with tasteful furnishings and decorations, gives it a sophisticated feel. My one criticism is the dress code. In a five-star restaurant I'd expect men to wear long trousers. Perhaps they take a more promotional approach, since we weren't the only diners visiting from other Horizon hotels where that's not required.

We had a very pleasant evening after the sister hotel invited us to dinner and brought us over by shuttle. The hotel and grounds felt very new and modern. The restaurant service was quick and attentive, as you'd expect at a five-star hotel. The kitchen staff answered our allergy questions in detail and handled them very well. The food was comparable to what the sister hotels served, though the presentation and display here were much more sophisticated and appealing.

We were rebooked from the Royal to the Blu, and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The location is fantastic, with its own pebble beach. Our room had a private pool, the hotel is new, the food was delicious and varied, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We wholeheartedly recommend it as of June 2026. P.S.
