Saint Michel

The old town setting was peaceful, and I really liked the atmosphere. Our room was lovely and spacious, nearly at the top of the building, and the owner and daytime employee were friendly. Breakfast was fine, with eggs, dried bread, cereal, nuts, yoghurt, meat and cheese. Getting to the room is a challenge if stairs are difficult: there’s a steep flight to the first floor, then winding outdoor stairs. No one offered to help with our bags, even though my 77-year-old companions were tired after a long day and we arrived in the dark, so I carried things up in several trips. A couple of repairs were also needed. The outdoor light above the door stayed broken after I mentioned it, and the shower base was cracked. I’d still come back.

We weren’t staying at the hotel, but stopped in for wine one evening. It was delicious and very well priced, and the hostess was so kind and polite. Such a calm little corner of the Old Town. I’d love to return, play cards and watch the world go by.

Anastasia welcomed us and showed us to our room, which was amazing. I’d never stayed in a cellar before, and it was a great experience. The bar service was brilliant, and everyone I spoke to on staff was lovely. We had a little holiday within our holiday here. It’s a busy little place, but set away from the cruise ship crowds, so it felt really peaceful. We slept in and missed breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. Thanks for a great stay. Bravo 👏.

The live music at night and the magical atmosphere made the stay special. The owners were incredibly nice and flexible. They let us check in very early, which saved our day, and kept our luggage after checkout. If I visit Rhodes again, this will be the first place I look at.
