The rooms are simply furnished but have what you need for a week, and the beds are comfortable. Everything was very clean, with superb gardens and pool. Booking directly gave us great value. Buses to Rhodes Town run every 15 minutes and continue back late into the evening. The nearby beach has swimming access, but its beds and facilities are for the hotels and aren't available for public purchase, which was our one small disappointment. There's another beach about a 15 minute walk away. We instead took the bus for a few minutes to Kalithea Springs. It's expensive, though handy if you want food and drinks brought to your sunbed. For Greek food, we'd suggest the 25 minute uphill walk or taxi to Koskinou. Koutouki Ta Mandala was a great meal, and the Asian sushi restaurant just outside the hotel was very good too.

The peaceful grounds and pool were a real godsend, with shops and restaurants just a two minute walk away. The hotel was so clean, and the lovely woman who cleaned our apartment each day was always smiling and friendly. She kept checking that we were all right or needed anything, so a big thank you to her. We'd definitely recommend staying here.

It's a quiet, low-key resort with plenty of local places to eat and great local food. The small supermarket is two minutes away, the beach five minutes, and the bus to Rhodes town takes about 15 minutes. The atmosphere is laid back, so it won't suit anyone after late-night entertainment. There are 20 self-catering apartments, all facing a lovely pool. The hotel is very clean and friendly, and there are more loungers than guests, so nobody needs to save a spot at 6am. Don't be put off by the low star ratings.

Savas, the owner, is a real gentleman, generous and thoughtful, and he made our visit wonderful. We'd just come from a very luxurious all-inclusive hotel, yet somehow I enjoyed this stay even more, though I can't fully explain why. This apartment hotel feels like a peaceful little refuge in the middle of busy Rhodes. I highly recommend asking for a room near the pool. You'll love it.

The staff really make this hotel special. They always greeted us with a smile and were so helpful arranging taxis and handling checkout. Guests ranged from families to couples and solo travellers, so it seems to suit all kinds of people. The rooms were clean and tidy, with a lovely balcony, and the pool was gorgeous. Great location too. We can't wait to return to Stavros Melathron! P.S. A random highlight was the lawn-cutting robot that looked like a F1 car. It was so cute, we called him Lawndo Norris 😂
