Valsami Hotel Apartments

For what I paid, this stay was terrible. The rooms were dirty, the beds felt like they were falling apart, and the kitchen was so tiny there was no way to wash dishes. The water took 15 minutes to get a little warm. I also found a note on the door telling me to leave two hours before the time I had paid for. There was a strong smoky, pub-like smell as soon as I entered the hotel. They also tried to charge me again for the AC, even though I had already paid for it. If this had been a cheap hotel, I might have called it bad but not this bad. Avoid it if you don't want your vacation ruined.

This was a great fit for me as a solo traveler with a busy week planned. I felt safe and comfortable the whole time, and the friendly staff were always around doing their best to help. The other guests were nice too, and the whole place had a welcoming feel. The apartment was clean and roomy, with plenty of space to relax and store my things. I could cook for myself, and the mattress, fridge and freezer were all new. It’s a good price, and the apartment and pool area were lovely places to unwind after a day out. If you want to spend your whole holiday inside the apartment and hotel grounds, it might not suit you, but for an active trip it was perfect. I booked it as a package with Tui. It may not be the biggest or most luxurious hotel in the area, but it was exactly right for me. People mention the planes overhead, but that’s to be expected with the airport nearby. It didn’t bother me at all. I actually enjoyed watching them from my pool bed, and they added to the holiday feeling. Thanks so much to the team at Valsami hotel for a wonderful stay. Loud planes passed overhead every 5-10 minutes. I loved Rhodes, but I won't return to this hotel. The hotel seemed to charge guests for every euro while offering the bare minimum. The tourist tax was €10 a night, and AC cost another €14 per day. That basic comfort charge wasn't clearly disclosed beforehand. On the first night, when the room was unbearably hot, I asked for AC and was told I had to wait until 6PM the next evening. The receptionist/guard laughed and suggested I take my clothes off and open a window. It made for a very uncomfortable night. They rationed towels to one small and one large. When I asked for a fresh one on the third day, I was rudely told to keep my towels clean, as if showering daily in a hot, humid room without AC was unreasonable. After I paid for AC, which was supposed to last 24 hours, staff entered my room without permission, took away my AC pass and later made me pay again. Hidden fees, dishonest handling, unprofessional staff and no regard for basic comfort ruined what could have been a pleasant stay.

I had a lovely holiday here. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food tasted good, and my room was nice and cleaned well every other day. I'd definitely recommend the hotel. The airport is nearby, so planes fly very low, but it didn't bother me much. Thanks for a nice holiday, Valsami :)
