Angelina Apartments

Angela was such a lovely, welcoming owner, and her nearby little supermarket stays open late and has everything you need. The apartment itself was spotless and had all the comforts we could want, just a three minute walk from the center of Roda. We spent the best two nights of our week in Corfù here. Thanks, Angela! We stayed at Theodoros Resort across the road from Angelina’s shop and apartments and often shopped there. On our last day, while waiting for our airport transfer, my wife went in to look at souvenirs. Angelina asked if it was our last day and they made small talk. My wife chose a tote bag and agreed to buy it for €5.60. Angelina processed the card payment, my wife tapped with her phone, and no receipt was offered. About an hour later on the bus to the airport, my wife saw a phone notification showing a charge of €37.60. We called Angelina from the airport. At first she wasn’t sure about the transaction, then remembered it as €5.60 and said she’d check the card transactions. A little later, she texted that she was “really sorry for the mistake” and that the POS company would refund €32 within five days. We did receive the €32 refund. In Roda it’s not unusual for shops, especially on small purchases, not to offer a card receipt. Restaurants generally gave us receipts and itemised bills, though that wasn’t always true in shops. Ask for a card receipt and check that the amount is what you expected to pay.

The apartments are beautiful and the host is so welcoming. First class as always. I can’t fault the place, and I’m really looking forward to coming back soon.

The beach is about a 5-10 minute walk away, and you can also use the local pool and restaurant. Angelina Apartments is a fantastic place to stay in Roda, with bright, clean, inviting rooms. Angelina is friendly and welcoming, and always makes time for her guests. My six year old wants to work for her when she grows up. We’ll be back as soon as we can.
