Milton

We chose Roda as a base for exploring, and Hotel Milton suited us well. The room was basic, as we expected, but it had a little balcony overlooking the excellent pool. The hotel was spotlessly clean and well cared for, and we were looked after very well. Breakfast had eggs, ham, cereal, fruit, toast, cheese, jam, tea, coffee and juice. There are restaurants, bars and entertainment nearby, about a five-minute walk away. Our late flight meant we arrived in the early hours. They’d left the door open, with our key and a little note waiting on the front counter. Such a lovely touch. We really enjoyed our ten nights there.

Alexandra and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The location was ideal, about five minutes on foot to the beach, shops and tavernas. We’ve just come back from a really relaxing week. The pool and gardens are lovely, and breakfast had a good continental selection. The rooms are basic and could use updating, as some reviews mention, but they had everything we needed.

The room could use a thorough clean. There were small spots of blood on the walls, mold and rust in the fridge, cobwebs around the room, especially in the ceiling corner, and dust in and around the few cupboards. The beds could do with a deeper clean too. The hotel is on the poor side, though you know it’s two stars for a reason. The staff seemed moody, but the woman who greeted us was nice. Across the road there’s a junk yard and a few abandoned shops. It’s still not too far from town, so the location isn’t all bad. The place really needs refurbishment.

It was very quiet around the hotel, which was exactly what we wanted. The grounds were lovely and well kept, and the hotel is close to both the sea and Roda town. Parking was plentiful, too. Staff were attentive and helpful, and our room had the basics and was serviced regularly. Breakfast was included, with two cereals, jams, honey, ham, cheese, Greek yoghurt, canned apricots, boiled eggs, and white and brown bread. After several days, I did wish there’d been more variety, or at least some fruit and other healthier options. Still, we had a great stay.
