Aeolis Hotel

Aelios really deserves more guests. We ate there several times on the half-board menu, including Greek pizza, a chicken burger, Greek salad, and half a chicken. The menu is big, the servings generous, the drinks are great, and the staff are lovely. On some nights there's live music, and those evenings get busy, so arrive early. I was surprised how quiet it was in late August, even at the tables by the water. The food and service easily matched, and sometimes beat, nearby restaurants. The hotel itself is a great base in Samos town. Restaurants, bars, cafes, and the museum are close by, and the wine museum is about a 2 km walk away. The rooftop has a bar and a nice pool, which was chilly but refreshing in the heat. Even in the last week of August there were always sunbeds free. There's also a small gym with a treadmill, bicycle, weights, and a bench. It was busy when I wanted to use it, so I borrowed a yoga mat and exercised in my room instead. I loved the staff across the restaurant, reception, and housekeeping. Everyone was helpful and cheerful, and they clearly want guests to enjoy the island. The renovated bedrooms feel modern, and the bed and pillows were just right for me, neither too hard nor too soft. Breakfast had what you'd hope for: eggs, bacon, sausage, feta, tomato, fruit, bread, juice, coffee, and tea. The food overall was really good. Thank you very much! I'm already looking forward to coming back.

The team worked so hard to make our stay a good one, and it showed. We had a spotless room with a fantastic bed and a stunning view across the water. We really enjoyed our time at Aeolis and hope to return. 🩷

I've only eaten at the restaurant, and both visits were great. The servings are generous for the price, the food is tasty, and the relaxed staff were happy to handle special requests. On our first visit we tried the salmon club sandwich and special omelette. We came back for the Greek omelette and chicken club sandwich. I liked the salmon sandwich more because it was moister, but the Greek omelette was excellent. The service was just as friendly and flexible the second time. We took a piece of sandwich to go, which was handy for the trip, and the fresh mixed fruit juice was heavenly. I'd highly recommend eating here.

The location is a real plus, and the room itself is a good size, though the bathroom is much too small. Air conditioning in many of the rooms isn't very effective, but at least it's there. The breakfast room has no AC, and neither does the lobby until later in the afternoon. The owner should sort out these small things, as they hurt the business. Breakfast is just OK. The bar has a good selection, while the rooftop pool and rooftop bar are both OK.
