Grand Resort Lagonissi

The private beaches, clear water, and lovely grounds made the resort feel like a luxurious, peaceful escape. I spent my days relaxing by the sea, and the views were breathtaking. I’ll always remember watching the sunset from my balcony. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and cared for, with impeccable service. Grand Resort Lagonissi was a slice of paradise on the Athenian Riviera and made for an unforgettable weekend away. It felt like a whole experience, not just a hotel. For a serene setting and top-tier service, I’d choose this place.

The hotel’s setting is its strongest point. The grounds and beaches are beautiful, and most rooms seem to have lovely ocean views. It’s conveniently located near the airport and Athens, so you can enjoy the Grecian seaside without the hassle of getting to the islands. The service was quite good, and it made a beautiful wedding venue. The main building rooms, though, are small and outdated. The bathroom felt like one on a cruise ship: the door hits the toilet, so getting in takes some gymnastics. The bed was the worst I’ve ever slept in at a hotel, let alone a luxury one. Food costs a lot, though that’s to be expected at a seasonal beach resort. The place also nickel-and-dimes guests, with only the first 2 espresso pods included, and it lacks modern amenities. The scenery and location rate 5 stars for me, but the accommodation felt closer to 3 stars. The nightly rate offered to wedding guests was compelling; without it, I would have felt severely over-charged for the quality. I absolutely wouldn’t pay €500+ a night to stay here.

I went with two others, and before we could even buy a day pass, staff repeatedly asked why we were on the property. We calmly explained that we wanted to spend the day at the beach. After we paid an entry fee to access the grounds, they questioned us again, then said the venue was “too expensive for us” and suggested we leave, even though we’d said cost wasn’t an issue. Security eventually asked us to go. The whole exchange felt dismissive and uncomfortable. The customer service didn’t live up to what I’d expect from a premium establishment, and the grounds didn’t seem worth the price. I wouldn’t recommend this venue based on that experience.

The reception and restaurant teams were efficient and professional, with a genuinely personal approach to guests. Add the beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces and wonderful views, and it’s a lovely resort. I’d highly recommend it.
