We stopped here for dinner while waiting for our overnight ferry to Athens. It’s the main, perhaps only, port on Schinoussa, and has that slightly chaotic but welcoming Greek harbor feel. The area is well kept, with space for a couple of yachts alongside the local fishing boats. The water looked clean enough for a swim.

I have nothing to say about the port itself. The port guard, though, was one of the worst people I’ve dealt with in a service role. We asked a very simple question and he got it wrong, then answered with a rude, smart-ass attitude and lots of slaps. Lucky for him he had a uniform on. A clean plug who got comfortable without meeting any specifications. If you can’t do the job, change jobs, you idiot. We asked: “Do you know if there’ll be a lot of Beaufort on the trip to Skopelitis? Don’t drown.” He said: “What can I tell you, no one has drowned in so many years.” Greece 2.0, “let’s go wherever it takes.”
