The apartment was comfortable, with twin beds and a daybed topped with thick mattress pads. The bedroom air conditioning kept the whole place cool, and the full-size fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster, two-ring hob, and strong shower with plenty of hot water all worked well. From the pool and sunbeds, the views over Elounda bay are wonderful, and Spinalonga looks lovely lit up at night. The location is between Elounda and Plaka, about a 20-minute walk to Elounda or €8, and Plaka is a five-minute drive or €11. I didn’t walk there. There’s also a bus stop 100m away. The staff were kind, friendly, and attentive. Great value for money, and I’d absolutely recommend staying here.

The ladies who run the place were kind and helpful, and Janie deserves a special mention for being so attentive and sweet. She made us feel right at home. We loved the quiet hillside setting and the wide views of Spinalonga, the sea, and Elounda. The pool is panoramic and almost makes the trip worth it by itself. It has a peaceful, timeless feel. The apartments have a simple, authentic Greek style, with essential furnishings but everything we needed. That simplicity gave the place its own charm. Our stay was enchanting, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

The bay views from the pool and the room terrace are amazing, and the pool is nice. There are some thoughtful decorative touches, and it’s good value. But there’s no TV, and the freezer door is missing, so there’s no ice for drinks. The door kept pulling the key holder out of the wall. There was no food or drink available on site during the day, and town is a 20-minute walk away. The floors, fixtures, fittings, and equipment all need updating.

The team at Kavos Bay Apartments gave us the best week off we’ve had in years. Jane, Chris, Anna, and Maria looked after us like family, and Jane was such a joy. The whole team works hard, and we’re so grateful. The rooms were clean and cool, the pool was gorgeous, and the views were stunning. It’s an easy, flat walk to Elounda and Plaka, with lots of tavernas and bars close by. The team served cold Mythos with such a happy, efficient attitude.

The women working here really make the place special. They’re so friendly and go out of their way to help. Every studio and apartment has a fantastic view across the bay. We had an amazing stay.
