The apartment smelled like a wet sponge, and the sheets were already dirty. We arrived at 3:00 a.m. exhausted, but there was no reception or staff around. For 20 minutes we waited, with the occasional local passing by and watching us. Then a woman came out of the shadows, looked at us like a haunted scarecrow, and disappeared. That was Sandra. After we begged and showed our booking confirmation like a peace offering, she reluctantly gave us a room, as if we’d insulted her ancestors by turning up. We had no towels, not a single one, and no toilet paper. When we asked about towels, we were told we didn’t deserve them because our room “wasn’t tidy.” Apparently there’s a towel based merit system. Sandra also lurks and appears without warning. She stood over us while we made the bed, correcting us like we were failing some twisted Home Economics exam from hell. Her English is limited, but the scolding tone came through. We tried using a translator, but even Google Translate seemed afraid to get involved. After we asked for basic necessities, she called us “too much trouble” and asked us to leave. She provided no hospitality, yet seemed offended by polite requests for things like toilet paper. If you enjoy psychological warfare, being gaslit by a towel hoarding villain and fearing a woman’s silent judgment of your bed making at dawn, Billy and Sandra’s is the ultimate immersive experience. If you just want a vacation, run. Zero stars. One Sandra. Infinite trauma.

My 15 year old son and I booked a last minute room only holiday. The place was clean and well kept, and the owners were really warm and friendly. There’s a supermarket 50 yards away, and the location is good for the beach. A well stocked bar serves food and drinks all day. After a day at the beach, the spotless pool was just what we needed to cool off. Highly recommend if you’re after a room only stay.

We had 3 towels and 3 cups for 4 people. With only English breakfast or fruit for breakfast, there was no fruit, and I found a hair in my egg. Workers were disrespectful and walked away while I was talking to them. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Never again!

The location wasn’t too bad, a 5 min walk from a nice strip of restaurants and bars by the beach, and near a bus stop. The pool was nice, and it’s an alright place if you need a cheap stay, but there are some things to be aware of. The rooms are quite dated, which is what I expected, and none have air con. The TV has no english channels. Food is available to buy at the hotel, but when we went down for lunch, the man said they had no food and couldn’t say when it would be served. The hotel has a very unpleasant canal running through it. I got nasty mosquito bites while staying there, which became infected, and I was prescribed 4 different courses of medication and creams. The bites could have been from the dirty towels and shower too. Cleaners didn’t clean or change the bedding and towels. I’d spilled a small dot of red cream on the bed, and the same sheet was still there when I got back, just turned around. They left the doors wide open while we were out and didn’t close them, putting our valuables at risk. You get 1 roll of toilet roll and hardly any towels, and cleaners don’t change them. You also can’t eat or drink outside by the nice pool. Even with bottled water, you’ll get told off. Be careful about leaving belongings around or if you want an air conditioned room.

The owner doesn’t speak English, there was no cleaner or chef, and refreshments were expensive. It’s no surprise there weren’t many people there when we stayed. I don’t understand how the owner has run this business for 30 years and still can’t speak English. The swimming pool was the one positive, that’s about it.
