Olive Grove Hotel

My stay was stressful and disappointing, and I don’t recommend this hotel. I booked a sea-view room after enjoying polite service at its bar during visits to the nearby beach the year before. I chose it for my holiday without hesitation, expecting that same welcome, but my booking wasn’t respected. When unexpected flight cancellations caused by the situation in the region disrupted my plans, I asked through the Booking.com chat if I could cancel or move the reservation. The hotel agreed to move it to August and confirmed I’d still have the same sea-view room. Yet after a long journey, I arrived at 7 PM and was put in a ground-floor room overlooking the pool. It wasn’t what I’d booked and paid for. When I asked, they said the sea-view room was occupied and “it is what it is.” The attitude felt extremely unprofessional. Staff told me, “If you don’t like it - you can leave.” That was at 7 PM in a foreign country. I stayed one night because it was too late to look for another place. In the morning I checked out and urgently found a different hotel, which fortunately gave me a proper sea-view room and treated me respectfully. The original hotel wouldn’t refund the unused nights and told me I “can complain wherever I want.” I’d come to celebrate my birthday, so this was especially upsetting. The communication and treatment of guests’ bookings showed no respect, and there was none of the service I’d experienced on my previous visit.
