Afisia Villas

We were very unhappy with this villa. Getting there means going through the forest for 10 minutes, and the warm water supply is limited. If privacy matters, note that two other villas have balconies connected to yours. Only the bedroom shown in the photo is upstairs. The other three are in the basement, where the internet barely works, and they aren't as modern as you might expect. The TVs are old and very small, the rooms and bathroom had a strange smell, and although some cleaning was done, the sheets were never cleaned or changed. We were told not to play music in the afternoon or after 11PM. The power went out twice during our stay, and quite a few pieces of furniture differed from the photos.

Our stay felt special, and the villas were wonderful. A big part of that was our lovely hosts, Vaya and her husband. I’d happily recommend Afisia Villas.

The living room and pool are lovely, with a beautiful view, and the people working for the owner were friendly and helpful. But the stay itself was awful. The three bedrooms are in the basement with little daylight, and one smelled strongly of mould. The access road is in terrible shape, mostly unpaved, and crosses a stream that is passable in normal conditions. We were there during heavy rain. Water flooded the bedrooms, and the living room flooded through the air conditioning. For two days we couldn't get along the road, so we had no way to reach a supermarket or restaurants. We contacted the owner and got no reply. After we finally got out and called several times, we reached her, but she was very rude on the phone. The road was left in such poor condition after the rain that a car could easily be damaged unless you drive extremely carefully. Several things were already broken when we arrived, including the bedroom TVs.

Getting to the villa means driving through an olive plantation. Most of the road is unpaved, with only a short paved section. We stayed in the Magnum villa: three bedrooms and a shower bathroom downstairs, then the living room, kitchen, another shower bathroom and terrace access on the ground floor. Upstairs there's one bedroom with its own bathroom and private terrace. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and changed our sheets and towels after three days. Our room was tiny, with no table to put things on, just two small nightstands. There was no mirror in the room, only one in the hall.
