Anthemida Rooms

They mixed up our reservation and had no room for us on the first night, so they put us in a much worse, old house and still expected full price. They first told us there had been a sick child in the room, then admitted they had made a reservation mistake. They refused to offer financial compensation. The rooms are average and not worth the price.

We chose Anthemida rooms because pets were allowed and it was available. After the long drive, I took my dog toward the garden for a moment to decompress. It looked clean and well kept, and I wasn't going to let him pee there, but he went in a bush before we entered the garden. The woman I assume owns the place came over and rudely told me, “Your dog cannot be pissing in the garden.” I explained that I wasn't taking him there for that and went straight outside the property to walk him, but dogs outside started barking at us, so I returned to the room. She made a point of telling us the dog wasn't allowed on any couch, bed, blanket, or towel because it was too hard to clean. A cat also kept coming onto the balcony, which I imagine would bother any dog. The rooms were clean apart from all that. There were five of us, and the AC was in the living room. It was very hot in the bedroom where I slept, so I had to open the window, which automatically stopped the AC. Sheep guard dogs barked from about 4 or 5am, and there were sheep, cows, and bulls nearby making noise and smells. My dog never got on a couch or bed; I’d brought his own bed and everything. She didn’t even welcome me before scolding me, and it soured the whole experience. It is kid friendly, though. All our neighbors had kids running and screaming 👍

We liked the service on our first visit so much that we came back, once in July and again in September. The owners are very nice, and it’s a well-kept place with cozy, nicely furnished, clean studios, plenty of parking, and a large garden for barbecues. It isn’t right on the beach, but the location is good, and you can get to several great beaches nearby by car.

A good location if you want to be near lots of beaches. The place was clean and had kitchen supplies. The POS wasn’t working, and there was no daily cleaning or change of towels and sheets. Bring your own shampoo and shower gel, and something for mosquitoes, there are a lot of them.
