House Stella Kalamitsi Studios & Apartments

We stayed for two lovely weeks and would love to return. In our top-floor room for two, we had a large balcony overlooking the sea. The room was cleaned every three days, and the towels and sheets were changed as well. House Stella is close to the beach. Kalamitsi itself is small and quiet, but there's still a good choice of restaurants and bars. The beach and sea are wonderful, and it suits families with children as well as adults.

Filipos is such a great host, caring and easygoing. The house is just steps from the sea and Kalamitsi center, where all the food is. Awesome!

My family and I can't recommend this place. The owners' arrogant behavior nearly ruined our holiday. We'd booked at the end of March for three adults and our 5kg Yorkey dog, which the owner knew about and accepted, charging us an extra €50. When we arrived, he asked for the money before we'd even taken our luggage out of the car. We'd been holidaying in Greece for over 10 years and had never experienced that before, but we let it go. It was quiet hours, so we went straight to the beach. We returned around 7:00 PM. Our dog was nervous after a five-hour trip and barked now and then when she saw someone. The owner came over and told me to control her because there had been complaints, or he'd ask us to leave. We were right next to his apartment, but I hadn't seen anyone complain. In any case, 7:00 PM wasn't quiet hours. I can't tape a dog's mouth shut, or a child's. So we left. He refunded the money but kept €50 because our luggage had been there for a few hours. I hope he just needed the money. He didn't even hesitate, and there was also a problem with the AC. This story I saw online about dogs in hotels fits the situation. It's not mine: HOTEL MANAGER'S REPLY TO THE MAN WHO WANTED TO BRING HIS DOG TO THE HOTEL... A man planning a hotel stay worries that management might not let him bring his dog. Before booking, he emails to ask if his dog can come along. He writes: "- Dear Hotel Manager, My dog is my best friend and has been by my side for years. I want to stay at your hotel and it would be great if I could bring my dog with me..." The hotel manager replies: "- I have been managing this hotel for years. I have never seen a dog steal a towel, a sheet or a painting. I have never had to deal with a dog that came to the hotel drunk in the middle of the night. Again, I have never seen a dog run away from the hotel without paying. Of course, your dog can stay at our hotel. If your dog agrees, you can stay too!"

The bed was so comfortable, and waking up to the sea view from our balcony was lovely. We were in a quiet but convenient spot, with the beach just steps away. From the moment we arrived, the owners made us feel welcome and went out of their way to help, including giving personal suggestions for local attractions and places to eat. The rental rooms by the sea exceeded what we expected. We can't wait to return and would highly recommend them for a getaway.
