Lagomandra Hotel and Spa

We’re back for a second year, and the improvements since our 2024 stay have made this visit even better. We enjoy the hotel and would like to see it keep improving. It’ll stay near the top of our list for next year too. The beach nearby is beautiful, with clear water throughout the day. The location is very good, the rooms are decent and have lovely sea-view terraces, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. We’d appreciate a bit more variety at dinner, where the menu changes only slightly from day to day. Breakfast has lots of sweet things like yogurt, creams, and jams, but few savory spreads. We missed things such as tuna or eggplant spreads, which are usually served at dinner. The savory options are mostly a few egg dishes, mushrooms, and salamis, and that gets repetitive over a longer stay. The evening entertainment has become very loud, more like a nightclub than a hotel bar. It’s hard to relax there unless you’re specifically looking for that kind of entertainment. We hope management will consider the volume and the food variety.

The beach was nice, though not sandy, so walking around was quite painful. Seats cost 12-15 euros a day, and towels weren't included. The location itself is nice, but a long way from the airport. The salad bar was the best part of the food. The bread and pastries were old and overcooked, and the food was the same every day. Drinks felt overpriced for what they were. The hotel wasn't generally bad, but the food and service weren't great. Most of the staff were unfriendly and unpleasant to be around. One woman rolled her eyes whenever she saw us coming to eat. Maybe it was because we had kids, but I don't know. There were a few exceptions: Dimitrije, the bar waiter, was very good, as was the floor manager, whose name I can't remember. She greeted everyone with a big smile. For the price, it wasn't great, but it wasn't good either.

The food had an excellent range, though plain pasta with sauce on the side would have helped. Our kid doesn't want sauce, so pasta that already had sauce wasn't an option for us. We liked the clean rooms, the nearby beach, and the amenities, especially the kids' playground in the evening. A couple of things made getting around harder: the elevators to the dining area and beach weren't working, so we struggled with our baby stroller on the stairs. In the evening, one staff member checked and wrote down everyone's room number at the dining entrance, which led to a queue. A color bracelet or another staff member could have helped. Fixing those issues would make this a five-star stay for me.

The kids' area was great in the evenings, and after checkout we were allowed to keep using the hotel facilities. We spent a few final relaxing hours by the pool before leaving. Getting a beach umbrella could be easier. We liked being able to book through an app, but having to reserve each day and then go down in the morning to claim it was inconvenient. If you didn't book early enough, the front-row spots were gone. We had all-inclusive, and the meals were tasty, fresh, and varied, with plenty of choice. Breakfast got a bit hectic at peak times, though the staff worked hard to clear and reset the tables. Housekeeping was excellent, with fresh towels every day. The daytime snacks for ultra all-inclusive guests were a bit limited, just basic toast sandwiches. The pool bars were a highlight. Anastacia, Kostas and Dimitros were attentive and looked after us so well. When we arrived before check-in time, our room was already ready. The reception staff welcomed us warmly, and Kyrios was especially helpful. They even helped bring our luggage from the parking area and invited us to lunch, a lovely start to the stay. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return.
