Rema Hotel

We found the hotel very clean, and the staff helpful and accommodating. The pool bar was nice too, with good coffee, ice creams and waffles. There’s also a small field with football goals and a little outdoor gym. The pool itself was amazing, probably the best in Vourvourou. The water felt very soft and wasn’t over-chlorinated. The location is great, across the road from the beach, with a lovely view from the pool and breakfast area. Restaurants, a supermarket and plenty of boat rental firms are all a few minutes’ walk away.

Yesterday evening, while I was waiting for the pancakes I’d ordered, a woman serving ice cream took a large bug and mosquito spray and used it heavily over, under and inside the ice cream display case, as well as around the area where pancakes were being made. I’ve never seen such disregard in the way a dangerous substance was used around food. She was putting toxic vapors with poison and neurotoxic substances onto food that would be served to unsuspecting customers. This is very serious. I didn’t feel like asking for her manager or reporting it to the Greek consumer protection agency. A business serving food this way should be closed. I hope the hotel managers see this and stop the practice. To be clear, I wasn’t complaining about a pancake costing 5 euros. That price is exaggerated too.

The atmosphere was really good, and the location was excellent. The hotel was clean, and they cleaned every day.

The kids loved having the freedom to play on the playground, and we felt safe letting them enjoy themselves. Staff were very accommodating: they set up a crib with blankets for my toddler, helped with events, and suggested beaches and activities. Poolside service was great too. It felt like a little resort, so we ate all three meals there. The breakfast buffet was great, and the pasta and salads were fantastic. We had a fantastic September stay and highly recommend it.
