Sophia's House

The studios are 200 meters from the beach, with a supermarket nearby, and it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the center of Toroni. There's a big garden with lots of room for kids to play or for anyone to relax. The accommodation had everything we needed. The owners were friendly and polite, changed our towels halfway through the stay, and replaced the linen even earlier.

The owners are very friendly, and the place is cozy and quiet. It's very close to the beach and well organized outside, with a parking spot. The house we picked was decent, though a little old inside. Each bungalow has a small balcony overlooking the garden.

The host wasn't welcoming at all. She seemed sour and didn't know how to run the business or even enough common English words to hold a conversation and make guests feel welcome. I wouldn't return to Sophia's house. We stayed in a family apartment with two adults and two children. The furniture was old and used, the toilet was broken, and the bathroom was cramped, with a slightly bent sink. The internet was unreliable, and there was no washing machine or hair dryer as listed. The beds weren't extra long. At first the kitchen cabinets were extremely sticky and the place hadn't been cleaned. Someone later came to clean, and after that it was done every two days, including changing the linen and towels. The apartments are about 200-300 meters from the maisonette, which wasn't ideal for our larger group of friends who wanted to stay together.

The garden is big and grassy, there's parking, a large terrace, mosquito nets, and a king size bed. We also received a bag of vegetables from the garde. Toroni beach is close by, and the location is good. But the water was dirty at every sink in the maisonette. It smelled of mud and rotten eggs. They pump it from the ground, apparently. We were told the water is like that all over Toroni, though when we stayed there in 2017 it was fine. The stairs to the top floor are very narrow, and the upper floor is made of thin wood that feels like it might give way when you step on it. You can hear every whisper between the first and second floors. There's no shower on the second floor, and the wardrobe there is tiny. Booking says there's a washing machine, but there isn't one.
