The tavern, cafés, frappe shops, and restaurants around Sithonia, especially in Vourvourou, had super friendly staff, and I wish them all the best. My stay at the accommodation, though, was a very different story. The owner, who hosted us, doesn’t seem to know how to treat tourists. We spent six nights there, and our room wasn’t cleaned, the bathroom and kitchenette trash wasn’t picked up, and the sofa sheets weren’t changed. We were given just one roll of toilet paper and had to buy more ourselves. The location is on the main road, so there’s a lot of noise from cars and motorbikes. We brought mosquito pills and coils after reading the other reviews. At night, you can hear jackals howling in the forest nearby, since the accommodation is close to the mountains. I wouldn’t recommend walking around in the evening or at night; it’s better and safer to take the car. I’m sorry to leave such a bad review, but that’s what it was like for us. Please read the other reviews too and make your own judgment. The location is only suitable for very, very low budgets. Last resort only.
