Vergos

The food is good, but the service is under all criticism. Check-in and placing an order are quick. Getting anything extra is another story, we had to ask three, four, even five times, and each time heard, “Excuse me, we will deliver your order now”. It’s maddening, and they don’t seem to treat every customer the same, focusing on just a few. That’s no way to attract customers or keep them satisfied. Some beach staff are very quick, but also super rude. You’re required to spend at least 10 euros, and they hover around, rushing you to order.

The setting is beautiful and quiet, but the rooms need a lot of work. The old furniture makes them feel neglected, and the door slams loudly enough to be a problem at night. Tall guests should steer clear of the attic rooms. The ceiling is low, and there’s hardly room to stand properly in the shower. Some renovation and more attention to comfort would make this a much nicer stay.

We only stopped in to eat and were surprised by how big the portions were. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. Being able to use the pool was a really nice extra. Such an amazing place, 10/10.

We had a good time at Vergos Hotel, though the rooms let it down. Rooms 20 and 21 were smaller than advertised and didn’t have the promised sea view. Reception’s first response wasn’t satisfactory, even though the problem was eventually resolved. The beach area was fantastic, with clean water and a beautiful private beach. Service there was excellent, especially from Vasili and Elena, who were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was good, and portions were generous. We appreciated the hotel’s effort to fix things and might return, but we’d pick a different room.
